- Gouarec in the good old days; normally

From 8,30 p.m. the town will be buzzing with musicians, dancers, street
theatre, crafts and trades etc based on the theme of the year 1900.
Exhibitions, food, old time agriculture, traditional games and much
more will be on show. |

- Stones and Legends - The abbey of Bon-Repos
is the setting for a historical fresco created and performed by
500 inhabitants of central Brittany at nightfall. in August. Not

- Buddhist Temple - The amazing Budhist temple
in nearby Plouray is always worth a visit, especially this year
with the pending visit of the Dalai Lama to the
city of Rennes (75miles from Gouarec) on July 16-21st. Click

- Markets are very popular in Brittany and there
is one within driving distance (1hr) every day of the week! Check
here for more information on markets. Two of the best local
markets are in Bon Repos (3.5km, very easy cycle along the canal
path) on Sunday mornings and Rostrenen (10km, nice day's cycle
along the old railway line) on Tuesdays.
